U.S. Kids Golf Academy
Our U.S. Kids programming started in August of 2021. We started this program to offer something unique and new for our juniors here at Tanglewood. U.S. Kids uses the player pathway which is a program for parents, coaches and kids. With an easy-to-follow curriculum combined with awards, players can progress from beginners to elite players. Each level in the Player Pathway covers putting, around the green, full swing, knowledge and scoring. With each level progressing in skills.
The U.S. Kids program runs from March-April, and then from August-October, most classes are offered after school with some classes on Sunday. Due to the success and growth of our program, our Teaching Professional, Daniel Byrd has been awarded as Top 50 U.S. Kids Coach in 2021 and 2022. And in 2023 Daniel was chosen as a Top 50 Coach which now makes him a Master Kids Coach from U.S. Kids. Becoming a Master Kids Coach from U.S. Kids is the highest distinction a teacher can earn.
PGA Jr. League
The Tanglewood PGA Junior League boasts Three-Time 17u Regional Champions! Our PGA Jr League has quickly grown into one of the best programs in the area. In 2025, Tanglewood was recognized as the largest PGA Jr League program in the Carolinas PGA Section, and was also ranked in the top 25 nationally! In 2023 our 17u Team was proud to represent North Carolina as we made it to the Inaugural PGA Jr League 17u National Championship. Our team went to Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico to compete for the National Title. What an amazing experience it was for all of us to be a part of the first ever National Championship!
Our PGA Jr League has quickly grown into one of the best programs in the area. PGA Jr League brings friends and families together through fun, team golf experiences. PGA Jr League is perfect for beginners and advanced players; no golf experience is needed to play.
Tanglewood offers PGA Jr League for juniors ages 6-17. Starting in 2024 we are expanding our PGA Jr League program to now include 3 offerings. We have a new developmental league for our juniors ages 6-9, our 13u Program for juniors ages 9-13, and our 17u Program for those juniors ages 14-17.
Due to the size of our program, we are an in-house league, which means all matches are located here at Tanglewood Park. Our developmental league takes place at our Par 3 Course. While our 13u and 17u Programs get to enjoy playing either the Reynolds Course or Championship Course.
Summer Camps & Clinics
Each summer we offer several weeks of camps and clinics for our junior golfers. All of our 3 Day Clinics are held at our Par 3 Course and Range. The 3-day clinics are for juniors ages 6-15 regardless of skill level. We welcome beginners as well as experienced players to attend any of our clinics.
