Tanglewood, which boasts two championship courses designed by legendary architect
Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is one of the premiere public facilities in the United
States. Nestled among the rolling hills along the banks of the Yadkin River in the
heart of the Piedmont region of North Carolina, the Championship and Reynolds Courses
are both challenging and beautiful. Golf's greatest players have walked the fairways
in pursuit of winning some of the Game's most prestigious events.
The historic Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship and the Champions Tour Vantage Championship
from 1988-2002, was closed in 2018 for a major renovation. The collaborative effort between Rober Trent Jones II and Richard Mandell included completely
redesigning, repositioning and restoring all bunkers, converting the greens from bentgrass to
Champion Bermudagrass, and creating new play angles and options on many holes.
The changes are outstanding. The updated playability, strategy and picturesque vistas have created a unique
and memorable golfing experience.
Tanglewood is excited to announce that the new Clubhouse project is underway! Our last day operating out of the current clubhouse will be Monday, May 13. Click to read more!
